A Valley Where the Water Never Sits Still

Every block sits on a fall

The valley tips east, and its two creeks, Flaggy and its smaller twin, carry the water to Glenrock Lagoon. Under the houses sits reactive clay over shale. A sound line clears itself on that grade. A line that has settled out of it holds waste in the dip, and when a summer storm stalls over the escarpment, the low ground by the creek takes the water first.

The oldest pipes sit in the township core

Kahibah was gazetted in 1894, and its first cottages drain through earthenware that has spent more than a century moving with the clay. Bush growing back along the Fernleigh Track, once the Belmont railway, sends roots into any joint that has opened.

Tanks and hoses of one age

Hot water tanks from the 1990s renovations and flexi hoses from the 2000s went into street after street at around the same time, so they are wearing out as a group. A cold snap on a shaded block can finish off a tank that was already marginal.

How Quotes Work Here

It costs nothing to get us out to your door (excluding after-hours).

What changes the number on a home job:

  • Reaching the pipe A line under a deck, slab or tight subfloor takes longer to reach than one in an open yard.
  • Pipe type Old earthenware and galvanised steel need a gentler hand than modern PVC or copper.
  • Parts Anything from a single washer to a whole hot water unit.
  • Night and weekend work A job after dark or on a Sunday costs more, and the rate is given on the phone first.

When we're not the right call: a tripping safety switch or a dead power point is an electrician's job, not a plumber's, so we point you to one.

Your Call to the Finished Job

  1. 1

    Ring or send the form

Call (02) 4063 3469 or use the form to explain the fault. We ask enough to bring the right equipment the first time.

  2. 2

    A fixed price first

A plumber inspects the job and names a fixed figure up front. Nothing gets started until you give the go-ahead.

  3. 3

    The work itself

Camera, jetter, leak detectors or gas gear come out as the fault needs, and the area is left tidy when the plumber goes.

  4. 4

    Covered for a year

Every job carries our 365-day warranty on all work. If something we did isn't right, ring the same number.

Why the Streets Here Age in Step

Three building eras, three kinds of pipe

Interwar cottages around Hexham Street, where the Memorial Hall once stood, the postwar timber and fibro homes, and the brick veneer that followed the school's 1954 move each brought their own pipework. Where an interwar house still runs its galvanised water service, rust inside the steel narrows the bore until the pressure fades, and renewing the service is the fix. A flow test at the meter confirms it.

Rain the valley has to move

Area figures put average rainfall at 1,128 millimetres a year, and a storm can drop it faster than the creek-bound channels carry it off. Clear grates and gutter guards help, particularly on the Ocean View Parade side of the valley, where stormwater runs need an even grade so water does not pool.

Questions From the Valley

What does it cost to have you come out?

It costs nothing to get us out to your door (excluding after-hours). A plumber looks at the fault and writes a fixed price down before anything starts, and nothing goes ahead until you say yes.

Can you clear a blocked drain on the spot?

Yes. The van carries the jetter, the electric eel and the drain camera, so the blockage is cleared and then the camera confirms the line is genuinely clear, not just flowing better for now.

My hot water system has died. How fast can it be replaced?

We are Available 24/7, and a stand-in hot water unit can be fitted until the new one arrives. The swap is quoted as one fixed figure before the old unit comes out. Ring (02) 4063 3469 with the make and model and what it is doing.

Do you work on the old clay drains around here?

Yes. Kahibah was a township by 1894, and the earthenware under its oldest streets has had well over a century to settle and crack. Filming the line shows the state of the joints before anyone digs.

Do you handle gas leaks and gas appliance installs?

Yes, we are licensed plumbers and gas fitters. If you notice a gas smell, get everyone outside, leave the switches alone, and call the gas network's emergency number first. For a new cooktop or any other gas appliance, ring us and we will get the gas work booked.

Which suburbs do you cover besides Kahibah?

The run takes in Highfields, Whitebridge, Charlestown and Adamstown Heights on top of Kahibah itself, from the ridge streets down to the creek lines. Same team, same fixed-quote process, same warranty terms on every job. Ring and tell us the street; if it is in or beside the valley, it is on the run.
